INSTRUCTIONS ON THE OCCASION OF THE 35TH CONVOCATION
Instructions on The Occasion of the 35th Convocation
The 35th convocation of the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) will be held on Tuesday, 30 May 2023 on its campus beginning at 11:00 PM.
The convocation is a ceremony where all concerned are required to exercise a balance between solemnity and festivities. It is, therefore, essential to follow decorum, etiquette and punctuality in each phase of the event in order to follow the programme which has been carefully choreographed.
All attendees are requested to follow the announcement during the ceremony;
BEFORE THE CEREMONY
The invited guardians and other guests are required to take their seats (Seat Plan) in their designated venues by 10:30 AM upon showing their invitation card at the entrance of the convocation venues;

Awardees must come to the venue following the academic procession smartly attired in convocation regalia as supplied by the University Authority;

Awardees must sit only at the seats earmarked for them in the convocation hall. |
DURING THE CEREMONY: THE AUDIENCE
All are requested to stand up as the academic procession enters the hall and to take their designated seats after the members of the procession take their seats; | |
At the time of departing the academic procession, the attendees are requested to stand up following the convention; | |
The audience will keep seated in their seats and will not move out of their seats.

DURING THE CEREMONY: AWARDEES
The awardees (PhD, OIC and IUT Gold medalists) shall move out of their seats only when their name is called for receiving the award; | |
The awardees should alight the stage and walk to the dais from one end in a dignified and orderly fashion in a sequence of their names called to receive certificates/medals at the hands of the dignitaries and come back to the allocated seat from the other end of the dais in an orderly sequential fashion; |
DURING THE CEREMONY: PROHIBITIONS
To carry bag, water bottles, camera, electronic gadget and mobile phone inside | |
Representing awardees/ invited guests;

Cross talks, photography, movements, or loitering inside the convocation hall ; At the time of departing the academic procession, the attendees are requested to stand up following the convention;

Whistling, shouting, making noise, cheering and other forms of exclamations; | |
Leaving the hall before the completion of the ceremony; | |
Crowding in front of the dais and in the aisles for taking pictures or for other purposes. |
GENERAL GUIDELINES UNDER COVID-19 PROTOCOL
Students are instructed to bring the COVID 19 test report

Wearing a mask during the whole ceremony is mandatory |
PARKING
Vehicles will be allowed to be parked only in the designated areas. |
GOWN DISTRIBUTION
ONLY eligible students will be given the regalia for the 35th convocation. The distribution will begin on Saturday, 27th May 2023 starting at 10:00 PM to 3:00PM in the annex room of the University Auditorium. Come with your student’s copy that was provided from the Gown Collection Form.

REHEARSALS
The Rehearsal will be held on Sunday, 28th May and Monday, 29th May at 2:30 PM
respectively. Rehearsals will be mandatory for all graduating students, failure to do so will not be allowed to take part in the Convocation Main Ceremony. Attendance will be taken in both occasions. |
