Vice Chancellor's Message

The Islamic University of Technology exists to contribute to the effort of expanding capacity for engineering, technology and technical education, and in order to facilitate its interactions with other Universities of renown. IUT’s ultra-modern campus offers students a truly international experience not just in terms of faculty and facilities, but also in the form of global opportunities providing quality education and to attract meritorious students from the 57 Member States of OIC.

Extending the horizon of knowledge the university act as "House of Wisdom"- a major intellectual centre for the students. The University of Al Karaouine in Fez, Morocco was the oldest degree-granting university in the world with its founding in 859 CE. The library of Tripoli is said to have had as many as three million books before it was destroyed by Crusaders. Muslim engineers also invented crankshafts and water turbines, employed gears in mills and water-raising machines, and pioneered the use of dams as sources of water power, used to provide additional power to watermills and water-raising machines.

IUT is committed to see its students as a Global citizen with a sense of responsibility for the impact that their choices will have on others- locally and across the boundaries of nation, races and religions.

Alike, the Golden Age of Islam the university will preserve earlier traditions as well as rejuvenate the era through adding inventions and innovations of its own. IUT is committed to see its students as a Global citizen with a sense of responsibility for the impact that their choices will have on others- locally and across the boundaries of nation, races and religions.

The University uses student-centered methods of instruction to promote students own knowledge search and discovery with assistance. State of the art laboratory equipment, library and communication facilities are being provided to create an environment that will facilitate and promote quality education, research and continuing academic development of staff as well.

Initiatives have taken strategic development plan to set up new market oriented departments. Students get to network with peers from different parts of the world. The university is generous in sharing student’s home cultures with their classmates that will help intellectually and culturally rewarding. The university is focusing on more industry-academia relationships for the sake of invention and building leadership. There are many ways to begin your global citizenship and there is no better time to start than now.

I along with all members of the university looking forward to strengthen its tradition here at IUT and make it - a university already rich with tradition - one of our strongest and proudest. Come, experience the IUT’s Magical journey.
