The session was attended by H.E. Mr. Iya Tidjani, Ambassador of the Republic of Cameroon in Riyadh, and Permanent Representative of Cameroon to the OIC; H.E. Barrister Mr. Yakubu Ahmed Danfuloti, Representative of Federal Republic of Nigeria; H.E. Mr. Mustafa Osman Turan, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Bangladesh; Mr. Md. Altap Hossen, Economic Analyst at the Embassy of United Arab Emirates in Bangladesh.
H.E. Secretary General of the OIC was represented in the meeting by H.E. Ambassador Mussinov Askar, Assistant Secretary General for Department of Science and Technology of OIC. The Assistant Secretary General was aided in the meeting by the officials of OIC - Ms. Ghaida Salameh, Professional Officer at Department of Science and Technology of OIC and Mr. Mustafa Coskun Enginel, Professional Officer at Admin & Finance of OIC.
Prof. Dr. Bakhit Saleh Abdallah, Advisor to the Secretary General of OIC, was also in attendance.
Prof. Dr. M. Rafiqul Islam, Vice Chancellor of the University, presented the programs and activities of the University before the meeting of the Governing Board. Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque, Acting Pro Vice Chancellor; Dr. Mwebesa Umar, Registrar; Prof. Dr. Md. Anayet Ullah Patwari, Head at MPE Department, and Mr. Maruful Islam Bhuiyan FCA, Comptroller, were present in the meeting, among others.
The members of the Governing Board visited the campus of the University and had exchanged views with the members of the faculty and staff as well as with the students and alumni of the University.
The board congratulated the University administration on getting a place in the range of 401-450 in the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) Asia University Rankings 2022, taking a combined 6th place in Bangladesh
The Board deliberated on many issues including the budget for the Fiscal Years 2022- 2023 and adopted the resolutions of the academic council, among others. The Board expressed its deep appreciation and gratitude to the host government, the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, in general, and Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh, in particular, for the continued patronage of the University.
The Board expressed the hope that with the concerted efforts of all, IUT would be able to achieve a new height of success in the years ahead.
