
Mr. Md. Jasim Uddin, Director and Ms. Shaila Shama, Senior Assistant Secretary of the same wing were also present in the meeting.
The VC made a power point presentation on the programmes and activities of the University. In this context, he explained the different aspects of the Preliminary Development Project Proposal (PDPP) of the university that has recently been submitted for consideration of the host government.
The VC added that the University is planning to raise its full-time student population to 4500 in phases who will be admitted in the programmes of the existing departments by opening new sections and in the departments to be launched
for offering programmes in cutting edge and frontier technologies catering to the need of the member states of the OIC including that of the host country, Bangladesh.
The project aims at constructing a high-rise academic building with the modern facilities, a student dormitory, a residential building having studio apartments for members of the staff, a guest house and vertical extension of the existing female hall.

The development programme also incorporates capacity building in the realm of research by setting up of the
state-of-the-art laboratories so that the university can become a centre of excellence in true sense of the term in course of time.
The estimated cost for implementation of the project is Tk 250 crore planned for loan-financing.
In the same meeting, the VC highlighted the need for updating the Headquarters Agreement -which was signed in 1995 - reflecting the changed circumstances.

The Director General (International Organisation) assured the Vice Chancellor of all possible help and cooperation for the development of the university so that it can achieve a niche among the prestigious higher seats of learning.
