T students have made us immensely proud by dominating the Renewable Energy Idea Contest 2024, organized by Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB). The competition initially saw participation from 89 teams representing different universities across the country. After a rigorous selection process, 30 teams were chosen in the first round, followed by 10 teams advancing to the final round. We are delighted to share that five of these finalist teams were from IUT. In an impressive display of talent and innovation, IUT teams secured all three top positions in the contest, winning 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.

Two other IUT teams also reached the finals: "IUT Green Energy Task Force," which presented a modified waste-to-energy power plant project, and "Team Wavengers," who worked on integrating wind turbine and wave energy into a renewable energy system. The IUT Green Energy Task Force was represented by Abdullah As Sami (EEE’21) and Roufur Rahim Hanjala (EEE’21), mentored by Ms. Anika Rahman Habiba (Junior Lecturer, EEE), while Team Wavengers included Md. Wahiduzzaman (EEE’20) and Md. Firoz Hossain (EEE’20), with Mr. Liman Shams (Junior Lecturer, EEE) as their mentor.
This outstanding success showcases the remarkable talents and dedication of our students in the field of renewable energy, underscoring IUT’s commitment to fostering innovation and academic excellence. We extend our sincere appreciation to the faculty mentors for their invaluable guidance throughout the competition. Congratulations to all the participants for their extraordinary performance! We are immensely proud of your achievements and look forward to more groundbreaking accomplishments in the future.
